Renfroe, Drema Tickle
Drema Jean Tickle Renfroe, beloved wife of Lawrence (Larry) Marshall Renfroe of Christiansburg died Friday Dec 6 after a long illness.
She was a very special person with four aspects of her personality. She was known to be funny, fiery, gentle, and tough as nails.
Born to members of a large Giles County family who moved to Salem, she moved to Christiansburg where she lived with her husband for 33 years.
Drema was primarily a homemaker and devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking, and prior to her illness, was devoted to her church in Riner.
She worked at several banks including Bank of Virginia, Dominion, First Union and significantly at United Virgina Bank – Crestor.
Drema was preceded in death by her parents, Noah M. Tickle, Sr and Ethel Rice Tickle; and a niece and nephew, Melissa and John.
Drema is survived by her husband Lawrence ‘Larry’ Renfroe; brothers, Noah M. Tickle & wife, Merylene, Jimmie J. Tickle; and Johnny A. Tickle and wife, Atlanta; sons, Duane Joesph Church and wife, Sara, Joseph Barry Church and wife, Jeni, Aaron Christopher and wife, Alicia, Philip Augustus Renfroe and wife, Amanda, and Laura Beth Renfroe; 12 grandchildren; as well as 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. in the Chapel, with Rev. Knox Wimberley officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Auburn United Methodist Church or Carilion Hospice.
