Register for NRV Senior Games

The New River Valley Senior Games, which will be held from April 29 – May 4, is accepting entries until Monday, April 9. Participants must be 50 years of age or older, and no late entries will be accepted.

The New River Valley Senior Games is organized by the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department. The annual event helps prepare competitors to participate at the state level in the Virginia Senior Games, where they have an opportunity to qualify for the National Senior Games. The New River Valley Senior Games follows state rules and offers a variety of athletic and social events. In years past, there have been participants from Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery County, Pulaski, Radford and Wytheville.

To enter, participants must complete a registration form, sign a liability waiver and submit their entry fees by Monday, April 9. The fee for participation in one event is $10, participation in two events is $15, and participation in three or more events is $20.

Participants will be divided into age groups based on their age on Dec. 31, 2018. The age categories will be 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, and 95 and above. Awards will be given to the top three finalists in all events and competition levels.
