Rally Appalachia 2 Starting Line
The starting line for Rally Appalachia 2 will be held in downtown Christiansburg, VA on West Main Street between South Franklin Street to Dunkley Street on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 starting at 7:30 am.
Twisting through the historic Appalachia mountains, surrounded by dozens of sports cars, muscle cars, and other unique rides, searching for secret check points at incredible locations – this is Rally Appalachia 2. The three-day, 1,200 mile, scavenger hunt gets underway in Christiansburg, VA and will crisscross the mountains before ending on Friday, July 14 in Rome, GA.
Christiansburg Mayor Mike Barber will serve as the starting line’s Grand Marshall.
Rally Appalachia 2 features 70 teams of two or more people, two racing venues, and 25 stops at historical and scenic locations across the world famous Appalachia Mountains. Specific, secret check points must be navigated along the route are not revealed to the participants until they leave their starting points each day.
Established in the winter of 2009, Rally North America is an organization aimed at bringing automotive enthusiasts from all over the United States and Canada together for the purpose of auto rallying. Participants are required to provide a professional and respectful representation of the automotive community to everyone. Participants must follow the rules of the road and are expected to be courteous to the drivers with whom they are sharing the road at all times.
Each rally organized by Rally North America (RNA) carries a common idea – driving for a cause. the 2017 charity of choice is Hope for the Warriors. RNA believes that by combining the love of the automotive lifestyle and a worthy charity organization, it is possible to do something “good” through the automotive hobby.
The mission of Hope for the Warriors® is to enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
