Debbie Ring of Radford won The Radford Photo Club’s September challenge, Friendship, with a photo at a local barn. “Just by chance, I had my I phone with me to catch this shot as I walked down the barn aisle,” she recalls.

Radford residents win photo contests 5Rebecca Harris, also of Radford, won the open theme contest with a photo of a local landmark. “I couldn’t resist a photo of a vintage carriage recently added to the Harvey home on a beautiful fall morning,” she said. She used her Nikon 5600 camera for the shot. “The Harvey home is one of Radford’s historic homes. At 8th and Harvey Streets, it was built in 1891 for J.K. Dimmock, who started the Radford foundry. He sold the home to Betty and Lewis Harvey in 1906.,” Harris says.

Radford residents win photo contests 6A photo shoot outing is planned for Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. in Wildwood Park, weather permitting, led by Joyce Sims. Park by the National Bank entrance. Let Joyce know if you intend to come: joycetsims@verizon.net

The next meeting is Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Radford Public Library. Joseph Pack of Fairlawn will give the program. The photo challenge is macro photography.
