Radford City Public Schools Art Show
Glencoe Mansion is pleased to announce its new art show, featuring the works of students from Radford City Public Schools. The show is open now through June 24. There is an opening reception Saturday, May 14, from 11 am to 3 pm.
The show features the works of students from 2nd to 12th grade, representing all four Radford City schools.
These talented young artists are showcasing work that was created in the classroom where they diligently learned about a variety of art movements, styles, and mediums.
Some students also submitted work that was created outside of the classroom, allowing their creativity and talent to shine.
Works from McHarg and Belle Heth were created under the direction of Michelle Saunders and Ashley Syphrett; Dalton Intermediate, under the direction of Kristy Bryant; and Radford High School, under the instruction of Savannah Leeman.
“We are so excited to have this dynamic exhibit showcasing the artistic talents of Radford’s youngest citizens,” says museum director Scott Gardner. Gallery coordinator Lauri Murphy adds, “Showcasing young artist’s work in a public setting can be so inspiring, both for the artist and the viewer. It is an honor to have this exhibit on display at Glencoe.”
Glencoe Mansion is free to visit and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm.
