Howard Oswald Price, age 79, went to heaven a singing and a shouting, breathing free and easy, Sunday, July 12, 2020.

He was born in Pearisburg, VA, January 17,1941, the son of the late Cecil and Edith Kellison Price. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Giampocaro, infant son James Mark Price and grandson Gage Wesley Price.

Howard leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Betty Sadler Price; his daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Tony Weatherly; his sons & daughters-in-law, Howard (“Ozzie”) & Laura, Kevin & fiance Kelley, Eric & Patti; his grandchildren: Chad ,Ozzie and Rebecca Price, Christina Sartin Graham, Johnathan Sartin, Colt, Case and Ty Price; great- grandchildren Kaylin, Ian and Eli Graham, Isaiah and Maggie Price; one sister & brother-in-law, Bonnie & Jerry Rice, and several nieces and nephews.

Howard was an active member of Pleasant Hill UMC, serving in many capacities throughout the years. He worked at Celanese for over forty years. He was a life time member of the Pearisburg Fire Department, Giles Masonic Lodge 106, Shriners , and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.

Howard was an avid hunter and fisherman and passed along his love for the outdoors to his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed being in the mountains and all of the sights and sounds that come with spending time in the woods. When not in the mountains, he could be found in his wood shop where God blessed him with the gift of woodworking. Whether piddling on something small or a large project, he enjoyed spending time in his shop working with his hands.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 7:00P.M. at Pleasant Hill UMC with Charles Henderson and Bob Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at Birchlawn Burial Park at a later date privately.

The family has chosen Davy Fontaine, Lawrence Fontaine, Barry Hagy, Ozzie Price, Chad Price, Robbie Rice, Craig Evans and Benji Pennington to serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Howard’s honor to either St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, stjude.org, or Shriners Hospitals, donate.lovetotherescue.org.
