Poff, Frances Brumfield

Frances Brumfield Poff of Christiansburg, Virginia went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the age of 79.
She was preceded in death by her by parents Morris and Annie Hylton Brumfield and her younger sister and brother-in-law, H.C. and Edean Rakes and sister-in-law Sharon Poff.

Frances is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bobby “Buddy” Poff; her daughters, Angela Poff of Floyd, and daughter and son-in-law, Selena and Happy Ruben of Christiansburg; grandchildren Ashley Poff, Courtney Poff, Dylan Britt and Kendell Britt; great grandchildren, Bradley Poff, Sidney Nichols, Alannah Leichliter, Ryleigh Britt, Savannah Woody, Montana Pettus, Colton Pennington, Ashley Bailey, and Zane Britt.

She retired from BB&T-Old Dominion Insurance with nearly 33 years of service.

Frances was known for her yearly cakes, cookies, pies, and candy that she made every Christmas. She canned everything from the garden at summer end and made a large pot of vegetable soup each snowstorm. She was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Shawsville. She currently was attending Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Christiansburg.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Vest officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2025, at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
