Motor Mile Subaru “Shares the Love”
Last fall, Subaru of America, Inc. announced the return of its annual ‘Share the Love’ event. 2017 marked the tenth anniversary of the campaign, and to date, Subaru ‘Share the Love’ has donated more than $118 million to national and local charities over the life of the program.
‘Share the Love’ consists of several opportunities to give back. In December, Shelor Motor Mile gathered food, supplies, and money for the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program and the Montgomery County Humane Society. Many Shelor employees donated canned goods and non-perishable food items for families and their pets.
From November 16, 2017 to January 2, 2018, Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle leased or sold. In addition to four national organizations (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, and the National Park Foundation), Shelor Motor Mile selected a charity from the local community to support.
This year, the local charity chosen was the Pulaski County United Way. During the event, customers were able to choose to which charity the $250 donation would go. “The Subaru Share the Love event was an awesome experience for us,” said Susan Dalrymple, Executive Director of the Pulaski County United Way. “It takes everyone – from industries, businesses, government, to hospital employees – to support and enable United Way to serve Pulaski County. The organization was started in 1959 which says a lot about the dedication of our volunteers over the years. The Shelor group made it all possible for us to be involved. Thank you Subaru of America and thank you Shelor for allowing our participation!” Motor Mile Subaru was able to give over $1,300 to the Pulaski County United Way.
