Montgomery County Women Increase Income at Higher Rate than Men

Recent data shows that women in Montgomery County had a higher increase in income than men between 2009 and 2015.  While men still make more money than women, the data shows that women are closing the gap.

The study was conducted by Pansop.com, a community knowledge sharing website built to help people become more knowledgeable about specific topics.  In regards to this study, the data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau.  The data represents individual males and females in the U.S aged 15 and up therefore the younger population is factored in, however it is still effective to see the income change over time.

Here the numbers show that women in Montgomery County have increased their income by a greater amount than males during the 6 year time period.

While the numbers for women have increased, figures show that the median income for males in 2015 was $21,831 while the median income for females was $18,482.

“Women in Montgomery County have seen a significant increase in income when compared to males.  Such changes suggest that women are getting closer towards a more even salary which can be seen on the county level” said data analyst for Pansop, Kevin Pryor.

The statistics for Montgomery County represents a trend happening across the United States where females are experiencing a higher increase in income than males.  This trend indicates that more women are entering higher paying positions in the workforce.  Efforts made by such women represent movement towards a narrowing pay gap between the two genders.
