Mass Meeting to Decide Indian Valley Supervisors Race

As the filing deadline closed at 5:00 P.M on Thursday, March 30th, Case Clinger was unopposed. Party Chair, Gene Bishop declared him the Republican Nominee for the courthouse district seat for the Floyd County Board of Supervisors.

Justin Coleman and Susan Peters were the two candidates who filed for the Floyd County Board of Supervisors seat to represent the Indian Valley District.

That nominee will be chosen by a mass meeting held at the Indian Valley Elementary School on Saturday, April 29th at 3:00 P.M.. All the registered voters in the Indian Valley District are invited to attend and vote for the candidate of their choice. Bishop stated the candidate who wins that election will be on the November 7, 2017 General Election ballot as the Republican Nominee along with the incumbent Case Clinger.

Fred Gerald, who is the longest serving elected official in Floyd County is not seeking re-election. He has served on the Floyd County Board of Supervisors representing Indian Valley since 1999 for a total of 18 years.
