Lester, Terry Dwayne
Terry D. Lester, age 66, of Cooks Run Road, passed away at his home on Friday, August 16, 2024, with his loving family and friends by his side. Born March 23, 1958, in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Sherman and Arminta Bartram Lester. Terry was a Coal Miner having worked for the Cline Brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Derek Galyean; three brothers, Larry, Timmy, and Jerry Lester; one sister, Marcella Lester; three brothers-in-law, Timmy “Burly” Lester, Benny Galyean, and Mickey Paul Galyean; a sister-in-law, Linda K. Galyean; his mother and father-in-law, C.B. and Emma Jean Chambers; and a grandchild, Sabrina Browning.
Terry enjoyed attending the Victory Pentecostal Church in Lindside, where he was a member. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking out with family and friends, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debbie Chambers Lester; four daughters, Amanda (Cody) Dye of Peterstown, WV, Holly (Chandler) Mullins of Bluefield, WV, Tanya (Rocky) Davis of Ikes Fork, WV, and Leah Lester of the home; two sons, Eric (Kevin) Barnes Lester of Greenville, WV, and Easton Lester of the home; grandchildren, Brylee Dye, Wrenlee Mullins, Dalton Browning, and Mackenzie and Makenna Kissinger; one brother, Leon Lester of Man, WV; three sisters, Eleanor (Junior) Salmons of Delbarton, WV, Debbie (Kibby) Lewis of Clay County, WV, and Tina (Eugene) Goodman of Baisden, WV; brother-in-law, Leo Chambers; and sisters-in-law, Helen (James) Compton, Gwen Lowe, Karrin (Walter) West, all of Hanover, WV, Sheila Stevens and Rebecca Galyean, both of Isaban, WV.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, August 22, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with James Finley and Walter West officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of service at the funeral home.
