Lavender, Carolyn Letchford 4Carolyn Letchford Lavender, 68 of Ripplemead, Virginia departed this life February 24, 2024 in the care of her cherished family. Born February 20, 1956 she was a daughter of the late Sam and Cora Gordon Letchford. Carolyn’s life was a vibrant journey marked by her passion for creativity and her devotion to her loved ones.

Carolyn’s legacy is carried on through her beloved children, Teddy Clark and his wife Laura, Amanda Letchford, and Bonnie Clark, as well as her stepson, Stacey Lavender. Her siblings, Russell Letchford, Phyllis Clark, and Barbara Johnson, will miss her deeply, as will her adoring grandchildren, Raymond Kast, Amy Clark, Austin Clark, and Holly Clark. Carolyn’s joy was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Olivia Kast and Arabella Kast.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Cora Gordon Letchford, and her siblings, Betty Brown, Gaynell Anderson, Shirley Letchford, Katherine Letchford, Bobby Letchford, and Sam Letchford Jr. She was also preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Susan Lavender, whose memory remained dear to her.

For many years, Carolyn dedicated her time and energy to her work as a housekeeper at Best Western, where she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her warm, welcoming demeanor.

Beyond her professional life, Carolyn was a woman of many interests. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in cooking, painting, coloring, and crocheting. These hobbies were not only a testament to her artistic spirit but also acts of love. Her culinary skills were particularly renowned, and family gatherings were always graced with her delicious home-cooked meals, which will be dearly missed. An avid Elvis fan, Carolyn’s love for the King of Rock and Roll was evident in her collection of memorabilia and the joy she found in his music.

Carolyn’s warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched many lives. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength to her family, who will forever cherish the memories of her unwavering support and boundless love. Her friends and community will remember her as a kind and gentle soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
