Kirk, Sandra BevanSandra “Nana” Bevan Kirk, 79 of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2024. Sandra was born on June 21, 1945, in Maryland and was a daughter of the late William Richard Bevan and Edna Thompson Bevan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Earnest E. “Spud” Kirk and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nana was a former member of the First Christian Church in Narrows. She was the “Dippin Dot Lady” at Valley View Mall in Roanoke for many years. She was a strong woman who was devoted to raising her daughter Kimberley. She never met a stranger and loved any reason to socialize. She was known for being an outstanding supporter of the Narrows High School Greenwave, James River High School Knights and the Northside High School boys’ basketball program. She also enjoyed the Virginia Tech football games and the Washington Commanders (Redskins) football games. Niki, her granddaughter, was the absolute light of her life and never missed any sporting events that Niki was a part of. She always made sure that Niki’s birthdays, holidays and special occasions were celebrated to the fullest. Anyone who ever met her loved her and knew what a special lady she was.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Dawn Kirk of Roanoke, a granddaughter, Nikole Bevan Kirk of Roanoke and her 2 grandpups, Kita and Kleo.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows at 2pm, with Dan Bowser leading the graveside prayer. The family will receive friends at the Givens-Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows from 12 – 2 on Saturday.
