Kingrea, Bobby Ray 4Bobby Ray Kingrea, 91, of Dublin passed away at home early Sunday morning. Bobby was born on June 13, 1931, to the late Arthur Roscoe and Alice May Kingrea.

Bobby served our nation by joining the United States Army in 1951. His family and this country are forever grateful for the sacrifice he was willing to make to protect our freedoms and democracy. Bob was a loving and devoted family man with a huge but gentle soul. He was such a sweet and caring man. He loved his God and worshiped him every chance he could at Dublin Church of God.

Bobby is also preceded in death by two loving and devoted wives, Izola Virginia Boothe Kingrea and most recently, Virgie S. Cox Kingrea who passed away in 2016. Also preceding Bobby are three sons, Charles Gillis Mitchell, John Stowers (and his wife Phyllis), and Roger L Mitchell.

Surviving family members include his sons, Carson Mitchell, Larry Stowers (Vicki) of Draper and Roger Stowers (Wanda) of Connecticut. Daughters, Dinah Morris, Mabel Caudill and Wanda Pearce (Steve) of Dublin.

Surviving brothers are Ed Kingrea (Cheryl) of Pearisburg, and Jack Kingrea also of Pearisburg.

Also left to carry on his legacy are 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Special granddaughter Regina Montgomery and her husband Kenney. Special great granddaughter who was always at his side (even in some meanness) Farrah Southard.

The family would also like to express their gratitude and love to Bobby’s special friend, Shirley Wilson. Bobby also had many loving and supporting friends at the Dublin Church of God.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 1:30 in the afternoon. in the chapel of Norris Stevens Funeral Services located at 815 Randolph Avenue in Pulaski. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Committal will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery with military honors being presented by the Army National Honor Guard and the Pulaski VFW Post 1184.
