King, Dottie Stafford

Dottie Stafford King, formerly of Dublin, VA, passed on to a better home with the Lord on May 24th, 2024 in Georgetown, SC. Dottie was born on September 27th, 1957 in Giles County, Virginia to Joe R. Stafford and Betsy Goad Stafford.

She graduated from Giles High School in 1975 and later from New River Community College. She married Paul Kevin King in 1977 and they made their home in Dublin, VA.

Dottie was preceded in death by her father, Joe, and her husband, Paul. She is survived by her mother, Betsy Stafford of the Sugar Run community outside of Pearisburg and her siblings, Rick and Robin Stafford, also of the Sugar Run community, Richard and Sherry Legard of Pearisburg, brother-in-law Wayne King of North Carolina and sister-in-law Alice K. Allen and husband Tracy of Pearisburg. She is also survived by one daughter, Heather O’Neal and four grandchildren all of Georgetown, SC and several nieces and nephews.

Dottie was a kind soul with a heart of gold that truly loved the Lord. She loved cooking, shopping and her pets, especially her Corgis, Ellie and Rufus. She was an active member and worshipped at the Thornspring United Methodist Church in Dublin, VA until her health declined.

There will be a celebration of life for Dottie and Paul on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 at 4:00PM at the Thessalia Community Church located in the Sugar Run community outside of Pearisburg with pastor and friend, Charles Henderson officiating. A light luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the service.
