Jones, F. Leon
F. Leon “Papaw” Jones, age 85, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg, VA. Born July 18, 1940, in Giles County, VA, he was the son of the late Luzon F. and Delilah Crawford Jones.
Papaw Leon was a devoted Christian who read his bible daily. He worked at Western Auto in Narrows for many years and later retired as a Sto Applicator. He loved spending time with his family, working on and fixing clocks, and horses. He also enjoyed a good trade and attending flea markets and yard sales. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Jones; and three sisters, Elsie Blankenship, Mildred Hall, and Lyndell Greene.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 65 years, Bobbie “Granny” Jones of the home; daughter, Tammy Bradley and husband Mark of Peterstown, WV; granddaughter, Rebecca Farmer and husband Brandon of Pembroke, VA; two great granddaughters, Nora Jane Farmer and Kenlee Ann Farmer; two brothers, Jack Jones and wife Georgie, and Mack Jones, all of Narrows, VA; two sisters, Joyce Hale of Peterstown, WV, and Jane Palmer and husband Tennis of Oxford, PA; special neighbors and family, Jeff and Misty Conley and Ricky and Libby Conley; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Additionally, the family would like to extend a special thanks to nurses Jessie and Lee Ann along with the entire staff of doctors and nurses at Lewis Gale Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Jerry Hagerman and Tom Layne officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnston-Conley Family Cemetery in Wolf Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
