I-81 Accident in Montgomery County kills 4

Around 3:30 this morning, a Chevrolet SUV with a U-Haul trailer was traveling north on I-81N at mile marker 120.2 when it lost control, spun out, and was hit by a tractor-trailer on I-81 in Montgomery County.

Three people in the SUV died at the scene and a fourth was flown to Roanoke Memorial, where they later died.

Authorities say the roadway is still blocked at this time. Traffic is being detoured off Interstate 81 northbound at exit 118 in Montgomery County.
