Hundley, Paul Scott
Paul Scott Hundley, 59 of Pearisburg, VA., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Scott was born on July 6, 1965, in Radford, VA, and was a son of Hartwell Elbert Hundley, Jr. and Paula Ann Ogle Hundley of Pearisburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hartwell Keith Hundley and a nephew, Dylan Hartwell Hundley.
Scott was a 1983 graduate of Giles High School and a member of the 1980 Giles Spartan Football state championship team. After high school, Scott joined the U.S. Army serving most of his time in Korea. He was a proud veteran and proud of receiving The Army Achievement Medal as a Demolition Specialist. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion. After returning from the military, Scott joined his dad and brother Keith at the family insurance business, Hundley Insurance, where he was Vice President. Scott was co-owner of the Hundley Flea Market in Hillsville, a blackbelt and instructor in Tae-Kwon-Do, an avid golfer and member of Giles Country Club, a member of Giles Masonic Lodge #106, Kazim Shrine Temple in Roanoke, Giles Shrine Club and a member of the Kazim Misfits Clown Unit. He loved watching and attending Giles High Spartans football games, VA Tech Football and the Dallas Cowboys.
In his younger years, he enjoyed trout fishing and turkey hunting. Scott never met a stranger, always had a positive attitude, enjoyed life to the fullest and had a laugh that would fill a room. He will be missed by his family and his many friends.
Besides his parents, he is survived by 1 brother, Jeffrey Todd Hundley (Leshia) of Hillsville, special friend and companion, Anita Hines of Pearisburg, 4 nephews, Jeremy T. Hundley, Kermit Lee Hundley, Jesse W. Hundley, T.J. Martin, niece, Casey Martin, several great nieces and nephews
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2pm at the First Christian Church in Pearisburg with Pastor Sharon Price Emory officiating. The family will receive friends at Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Thursday evening from 6 – 8 pm. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and VFW Post #6000, and American Legion Posts #68, #311 and #145. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital or the First Christian Church in Pearisburg.
