Hilton, Jr., Shelby Earl
Shelby Earl Hilton Jr., age 77, of Floyd, Virginia formerly of Glade Spring and Russell County passed on Thursday, November 7, 2024. He was born on December 29, 1946 to the late Shelby Sr. and bonnie Hilton. After graduating from MCV Medical College of Virginia, Shelby worked as a clinical pharmacist until his retirement. He was also a talented pilot, welder, competitive shooter, author and handyman.
Shelby was an active church member and participated in foreign mission trips and many community projects. In his own words, sitting in a pew is not enough. Even in his last years after suffering a brain stem stoke he continued to share his faith with others. He served admirably as President of the Resident Council at Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past several years.
His love, kindness and humor will be sorely missed by his wife Sandra Hilton of Floyd, Virginia; his children Wade and Misty Hilton of Eldorado, Arkansas; Ben and Susan Hilton and their son Jacob of Belfast; John Johnson and his children Eli and Isabelle of Floyd; Dana Johnson of Fort Washakie, Wyoming; Amy and Robert Ingram of Floyd; his sister Lynn and Scott Conyers of Lyndhurst. He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Hilton.

Per Shelby’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A memorial will be planned at a later time.
