Harmon, William IsaacWilliam Isaac “Billy” Harmon, 88, of Floyd, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 15, 2024. He was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren for most of his life, serving as deacon for many years. He retired from Hubbell Lighting.

He served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. While stationed in Germany, he purchased his wife’s wedding ring in the base PX and mailed it back to the United States to Ethel so they could get married as soon as he returned. He enjoyed helping his son on the farm. He also enjoyed taking his grandsons hunting, fishing, and camping when they were younger. As his health was declining in more recent months, he enjoyed and would ask for people to pray for him at his bedside.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Ethel Compton Harmon; one son: Randall Harmon (Sandy); one daughter: Laurie Boyd (Ricky); Four Grandsons: Riley Harmon (Telena), Corey Harmon (Bry), Shawn Boyd (Katie), Trevor Boyd (Alena); Five Great Grandchildren: Renaley Harmon, Duke Isaac Harmon, River Harmon, Dallas Harmon, Ellytt Harmon, and one on the way; One Brother: Dale Harmon (Rhetta); in-laws: Guiwana Compton, William Compton (Ruth), Eliga Compton, Ila Martin, and Shirley Compton.

Funeral Services will be Sunday August 18, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Pratt officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery-Tuggles Gap. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 until 6 PM at Gardner Funeral Home.
