Hancock, Glenn Morgan
Glenn Morgan Hancock, age 73, of Riner passed away peacefully while sleeping Friday, October 24, 2025, at his home. He was born in Roanoke, Va. on April 14, 1952, to the late Benjamin and Virginia Hancock.
He is also preceded in death by his brother; Wayne Hancock, daughter; Amy Hancock, and brother-in-law; Kevin Manning.
He is survived by his fiancé, Barbara Griffith and her entire family which includes sons, Eric Griffith (Angie), Brian Grifith (Christina); granddaughters, PawPaw’s sweetie-Bailee Griffith, Briana Meredith and her family (Adam), Madisyn, Addilyn and Lainey; brother and sisters-in-law, Dan and Nancy Thompson; Norma Cole (Joe Harrison); sisters, Darlene Hancock, and Sandra Manning; niece, Amber Manning.
Glenn and Barbara were introduced by her brother 28 years ago, and seven years later he moved to Riner.
Glenn was an avid biker for most of his life and had many dear friends in the West Salem Gang. He was a Kroger truck driver for 35 years, retiring in 2014. He always had a passion for cars. After retirement Glenn made countless friends who shared his love of classic hotrods, cruise-ins, and car shows. Ernie Littlefield, now deceased, had a huge influence in creating the unique 1932 Ford coupe. A special thank you to Richard Gregory of Roanoke for all he did to help Glenn complete each project car or truck, most of which were always a little challenging.
Glenn also treasured all the friendships formed at Fatback Soul Shack and Lost in Taste. Another favorite hangout was Burton’s Garage where he met so many people from our community and loved time spent with the Burton family.
All of this, combined with his love of life on our farm, hunting, and countless hours on our porch with the view, made this Glenn’s home. We are truly grateful for the many years of love, laughter, and adventures. He will be missed by many. May Glenn now rest in peace with his beautiful daughter, Amy, and the many family members and friends that passed before him.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Neal Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
