Hale, Carol Lacey
Carol Anne Hale, 82 of Narrows, VA., passed away peacefully on the afternoon of October 15, 2024. Carol was born on December 19, 1941, in Tucson, AZ, and was a daughter of the late Ernest Keltner Lacy and Doris Wilma Jamison Lacy.
In her last few months, she longed for heaven and her loved ones that she missed so deeply. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenny Hale. She joined him in heaven just in time to celebrate his birthday
Carol was born in Tucson, AZ and grew up in Albuquerque, NM. She would meet her husband, Kenny, while he was stationed there serving in the Army and would travel across the country to make her home in Narrows, VA on a farm. Early on, she stayed at home to raise her children and learned life of the farm. Eventually, she took a job as the secretary for S & W equipment in Narrows, and enjoyed working with the customers. Later in life, she attended the Giles Vocational Nursing program and received her LPN license. She truly found her calling in nursing. She worked at Giles Chiropractic Clinic and Giles Family Practice, working alongside Dr. Walker. She loved her patients, and she loved being a nurse. Frequently, after retiring, former patients would tell her how much they missed her.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Missy Hale of Narrows, daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Maurice Swain of Catawba, her beloved grandchildren, Paula Hale and Kenneth Taylor Swain both of Narrows, brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Connie Lacy of Atlanta, GA and Don and Deanna Lacy of Albuquerque, NM, and special friend, Sheri Henderson of TN.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2pm with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating at the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. Carol faithfully attended Riverview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Jefferson Christian Academy, 219 Big Stony Creek, Ripplemead, VA., 24150.
