Gwinn, Glenvil Theodore

Glenvil “Shorty” Theodore Gwinn, age 91, of Christiansburg, died, Sunday, June 2, 2024. He was born in Meadow Bridge, WV, on August 27, 1932, to the late Theodore and Irene Gwinn. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elene Campbell, and brother, Leslie Gwinn.

Glenvil was a member of Blountville Christian Church for 15 years. After moving to Christiansburg, he and Mildred became members of Belmont Christian Church. He taught Sunday school for 47 years. He retired from New River Industries after 45 years of service. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mildred Lou Gwinn; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard Keen; grandchildren, Trevor (Kelly) Keen, Tara Keen; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Darlene Gwinn; several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Belmont Christian Church with Mr. Beaver Terry and Mr. Brandon Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
