Griffith Announces $1.5 Million to Virginia Tech
U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) announced today that the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management has awarded $1.5 million to Virginia Tech for an assessment of subsurface hydrogen storage in depleted gas fields of Appalachia.
“Subsurface hydrogen storage has the potential to capture large amounts of hydrogen fuel without having to build above-ground infrastructure otherwise needed,” said Griffith. “I look forward to seeing how the Appalachian region can play a part in the development of this energy storage, as it will not only make more energy available to Americans, lowering prices, but also bring more energy jobs to the region.”

That would be the Energy Department run by Democrats. It’s great when politicians rail against “the government” except when using the government’s money makes it look like the politician is actually doing something constructive.
