Grant for Calfee Community Center

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development has awarded a grant of $36,900 to Calfee Community and Cultural Center. The grant money will be used to help purchase furniture and equipment for a new childcare facility in Pulaski, Virgina. Congressman Morgan Griffith submitted the following statement:

“I am pleased this grant for $36,900 will help bolster childcare services in Pulaski County. Once the facility is outfitted with furniture and equipment, it will support childcare services for 79 children and after-school care for an additional 20. This is also another step forward in restoring this historic site.”

Congressman Griffith spoke at the groundbreaking of the Calfee Community and Cultural Center this past August.
