Good, Jewel Mann
Jewel Christie Mann Good, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at her home in Pearisburg, VA. Born October 18, 1928, in Lindside, WV, she was the daughter of the late Fred Douglas and Catherine Riner Mann.
Jewel was a member of the Narrows First Presbyterian Church where she served on the session. Additionally, she taught Sunday School and Bible School and was involved with the Card Ministry in Giles County. She worked at Celanese in Narrows, VA, for over 30 years. She was a member of the Peterstown Eastern Star Chapter #118.
Some of her best memories were weekends spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuel Good; one son, Silas Good; three sisters, Virginia Bostic, Mildred Vance, and Leola Wimmer; and one brother, Joe Mann.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Billy Good and wife Marguerite of Pearisburg, VA; one sister, Eurcell Broyles of Union, WV; four grandchildren, Lauren Christie Good and husband Seth, Courtney Ann Ogden and husband Corey, William Douglas Good, Jr. and wife Cailin, and Ethan Silas Good; five great grandchildren, Anyssa, Kyler, Charlotte, Jackson, and Archer; her long-term caregiver, Patty Midkiff; one daughter-in-law, Priscilla Dillon Good of Roanoke, VA; and many special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and her friends at Good Samaritan Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Rev. Russell Gregory and Connie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek, VA.
Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
