Goad, Cynthia LeighCynthia Leigh Goad “Cindy”, age 65 of Narrows, Virginia succumbed Friday morning, October 4, 2024 at Lewis-Gale Hospital-Montgomery in Blacksburg, Virginia from injuries she sustained from an auto accident the day before. She was the younger daughter of the late Frieda and Glen Goad of Narrows, Virginia.

Cindy is survived by her son, Ryan Clay Gilmer (Sheree Jeter); her beloved grandson, Chance Aiden Gilmer; sister, Becky Goad Brooks of Roanoke; Ryan’s beloved half siblings, Brock Gilmer and Renee Altizer (Denny) to whom she loved as her own; Ryan’s furbaby Freya; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and her many loving friends.

Cindy attended Narrows High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1977. She was later employed by and retired from the Celanese Corporation in Narrows, Virginia.

Her family would like to thank the Giles Lifesaving and Rescue Squad; the staff of Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery Emergency Room, Emergency Surgery, and the ICU Staff for their hours of hard work and devoted labor. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

The family will receive friends in a time of visitation on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Cindy’s honor to the families of Giles County, Virginia who are recovering from the devastating floods incurred by Hurricane Helene (Giles County Disaster Relief Fund which is set up through any branch of the National Bank of Blacksburg or you may visit this link).
