Giles County Reassurance Program
Are you aware of our Reassurance Program that we offer to Giles County residents? The Reassurance Program focuses on senior citizens who live alone. We call the participants at a pre-arranged time every day to verify they are okay.
Calls are typically placed around 6:00 p.m., but this can be modified to best fit the citizen’s needs. If contact is not made, we will contact a family member for further information (we often find the participant is with a family member, etc.). If the situation still warrants a response, we will dispatch a deputy or town officer to check on their well-being.
In 2023, we made 1,145 calls to participants in our program. The program is a great tool in determining the welfare of an individual while at the same time allowing elderly residents living alone to have a sense of security knowing that extra steps are taken to ensure their well-being.
There are no fees associated with this program. If you wish to learn more or if you wish to enroll yourself or a family member, give us a call at our 911 Center at 540-921-3842.
