French, Laura Fink

Laura Harriette Fink French was born 1/28/53 to parents Raymond & Wanda Fink in Martinsburg, WV and went to be with her savior 8/7/25.

She is survived by her two daughters Angela O’Bryan (Patrick) and Tonya Whitmer, siblings Donald Fink (Betty), Rita Fink (Jim), Susan Fink, Joan Horst (Rodney), three grandchildren Shea, Genesis (Chris), Corey and two former spouses David French and Larry Whitmer.

The family thanks Lewis Gale staff of the Cardiac ICU for her care and support. Thank you to her church, Christiansburg Presbyterian, and close friends for prayers through her last days.

Laura worked 38 years at Virginia Tech in Human Resources and CPAP department. She loved her students and exchange students, always making them feel at home.

Laura enjoyed word puzzles, intense games of scrabble, reading and history.

A memorial service will be held on Wednedsday, August 13, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allison Unroe officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
