Francis, Elizabeth Farley

Elizabeth Ann Francis, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Peterstown following a long illness. Libby, as most called her, was born at Barton Ridge, Summers County, West Virginia, on April 3, 1937, and was the only child of the late Burnice and Ethel Shepard Farley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Francis.

Libby was a Christian and ready to meet her Savior. She had been a former EMT and member of the Peterstown Rescue Squad. When she was well, Libby enjoyed working in her flower beds or garden and feeding the birds.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kathy Ferguson and Rick of Union, WV; and son Michael Francis and Julie of Cashmere, WV; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Betsy) Mullins and Scotty of Kendallville, IN, Jacob Ferguson and Kendra of Peterstown, WV, and Tyler Francis of Hagerstown, MD; great granddaughters, Kaitlin and Madison Mullins of Kendallville, IN, and Ashlyn and Alexis Ferguson of Peterstown, WV; great grandson, Brycen Ferguson of Peterstown, WV; double first cousin, Marth Farley-Millett of New Orleans, LA; and nephew William Christopher Kidd Ill of Raleigh, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Tim Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
