Fleming, Mary Wright

Mary Annie Wright Fleming, age 82, of Peterstown, WV, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born on October 24, 1942, to James Austin Wright Sr. and Ethel Irene Moser Wright, both deceased.

Mary was a believer of Christianity. She was born and raised in NC. She worked with family on NC tobacco farms and worked in the furniture industry for most of her adult life.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceeded in death by her son, Van W Fleming; brothers, Charles F. Wright, Bobby L. Wright, James (Jim) A. Wright Jr., Vernon G. Wright Sr., and Marvin R. Wright, Sr.; and sister, Betty L. Wright Ferguson. Also, her husbands, Raymond Norris Fleming and Clinnie Dale Crotts.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Libby W. Trivett of Peterstown, WV, whom Mary lived with, and Ethel L. Wright of Shawsville, VA; her grandsons, C. Anthony (Tony) Needham II, Alyssa of Harper’s Ferry, WV, Barry Needham and wife Brittany of Peterstown, WV, Samuel Brown of Shawsville, VA, William (Wil) Lohr of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Ruby Wright Dickens and her daughters Ann, Brenda, and Linda all of Lexington, NC; and sister-in-law, Brenda Rowlett Wright of Trinity, NC. Mary also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Mary has always been close with her family. She made sure that they knew she loved them and was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was proudly the first of five generations while alive. She attended Bozoo Christian Church in Peterstown, WV, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Narrows, VA. She will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Bozoo Christian Church in Bozoo, WV, with Pastor Terry Kornegay officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until time of services on Friday at the church.
