Flash Flood Watch in Effect Through This Evening
The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Flash Flood Watch for most of southeast West Virginia, most of southwest Virginia east of Interstate 77, and portions of the piedmont of North Carolina through this evening.
* Showers and thunderstorms will produce excessive rainfall over the watch area.
* Rapid flooding of streams and creeks is possible, along with flooding of roads and poor drainage areas.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. Remember…TURN AROUND…DON’T DROWN!
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
