Fire at RAAP injures three people
Three people were injured in a flash fire at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant on Monday night.
At about 7:30 p.m., nitrocellulose material in the drying process combusted and caused a flash fire, according to RAAP spokesman Charles Saks. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire by 8:11 p.m.
All production has been suspended and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire has been initiated.
