Farmers Market Opening Delayed

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Due to anticipated severe weather and potential flooding this week, the Christiansburg Farmers Market will be delaying opening day by one week. While we’re disappointed we won’t be able to start our season this Thursday, we are looking forward to our new opening day – Thursday, May 28 – and are excited to see you (from a safe distance) on Hickok Street!

We’re in the process of launching our online ordering system at www.christiansburg.org/marketshop. Online ordering will allow customers to prepay for items and pick them up on Hickok Street on market day. Each week, online ordering will open at 7 a.m. on Friday and close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. So, for our new opening day of May 28, you can begin ordering at 7 a.m. this Friday, May 22, and must complete your orders by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26.

While we encourage customers to utilize online ordering whenever possible, our vendors will still be set up on Hickok Street each Thursday during market hours (3-7 p.m.). Market staff will monitor customer density and restrict entry to the market as needed to ensure there is ample room for social distancing. We will also enforce social distancing guidelines by spacing vendors 10 feet apart and ensuring there is no mingling.

Stay dry this week, and we’ll see you on May 28!
