Entries sought for July 4 Parade
The 32nd annual July 4th parade in Blacksburg will set off at 2pm from the Old Blacksburg Middle School, travel along Main Street, and end at the Alumni Mall. This year’s theme is “Blacksburg Volunteers”.
The Grand Marshal will be Dudley Scott. At 93, he is one of the oldest surviving coal miners who worked in the local mines.
Parade entries are needed, and can be floats, marchers, antique vehicles, wagons, bicycles, sports teams, businesses, horses, bands, race cars, scouts, etc.

The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club sponsors the parade, and also the movie “Up”, which will be shown after the parade in The Lyric Theatre on College Avenue.
The Town of Blacksburg will have music, food and entertainments near the Rec Center on Patrick Henry Drive, beginning at 6:00 pm, followed by Fireworks at 9:30 pm. Call Parks & Rec at 540-443-1100 for information on the evening events.
