Eaves, Charles Edward
Charles Edward Eaves, 78 of Pembroke, Virginia, passed away in his home on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Mark Eaves and Pauline Mitchell Eaves; brothers, John MacArther, Jimmy Larry Eaves, and Douglas Eaves; and a sister, Geraldine Eaves Wilcoxson.
He will be remembered by his caring sisters, Gertrude Meadows of Richmond, VA; Sonia Marie Eaves of Radford; and Pauline Detta Brooks of Pulaski; his special friend, Betty Epps of Christiansburg; son, Brian Eaves of Roanoke; grandson, Matthew; great-grandson, Grayson; daughter, Sherry Eaves; former wife and friend, Virginia Brook; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Charles served in the United States Army and later served as a police officer in Blacksburg. He would later work as a long-haul truck driver. He retired from Norfolk-Southern Railway.
During his retirement years, he maintained a gorgeous vegetable garden and raised and cared for a variety of farm animals. He enjoyed spending time on the road in his pick-up truck. Charles loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Kendall Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Alexander officiating. Military Honors will also be presented at that time by the United States Army and American Legion Posts 68, 311, and 415. Funeral services will conclude in the Eaves Family Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
