Dunn, Mitzi Markley
Mitzi Markley Dunn, age 92, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. Born December 15, 1931, in Hutton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Roberta Boice Markley.
Mitzi was a member of the Peterstown United Methodist Church. She worked as the Secretary to the Dean of Concord College, where she attended. Later, she worked as the Secretary for Peterstown Elementary and Middle Schools for 23 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dunn; and siblings, Paul Markley, Lois Jennings, Richard Markley, and Roger Markley.
Survivors include her children, Jeffery Dunn and wife Lisa of Morgantown, WV, Shari Spangler of Bluefield, WV, and Rodney Dunn of Christiansburg, VA; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Angel, and Alex Dunn, Sherman and Paul Dunn, and Jordan, Justin, and Jackie Moore; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Bobbie Kingsley and husband Bill, and Lucille Meredith, all of Maryland.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA, with Dr. John Sauvage officiating.
