Duncan, Jerry David
Jerry David Duncan, 77, of Pembroke, VA., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. A long-time resident of Giles County, born on October 20, 1946, and the son of the late Henry Clifford and Fannie Olena Palmer Duncan.
He was also predeceased by his brothers, Glen Johnston Duncan and Jimmy Dean Duncan, and sisters, Patricia Ann Johnston and Jeania Gaynell Robertson.
Jerry was a retiree of Celanese, retiring in 2006. He served as Chief of Narrows Fire Department for 10 years and long-time member of 30 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was an active member of Castle Rock Baptist Church of Pembroke, VA.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Melvin Duncan; daughters, Sherry Dawn Pagan of Pearisburg and Tammy Denise Vaught of Narrows; and son, Jeffrey David Duncan (Missy) of Narrows; stepchildren, Darlene Lambert of Pembroke, and Donald Sparks (Michele) of Troutman, NC. A sister, Freda Geraldine Lawson (John) of Dublin. Several grandchildren, Brandon Vaught, Brittany Vaught of Narrows; Kristeena Pagan of Pearisburg; Cody Pagan (Olivia) of Pearisburg; twins, Kaycee and Kaylee Duncan of Narrows. Great-grandchildren, McKenzie Vaught, Makyia Hunter of Narrows; and Isaac Pagan and Sawyer Pagan of Pearisburg. Step-grandchildren, Brody Dunford of Narrows, Jason Stafford of Pembroke, Tanner Lambert (Reganne) of Pigeon Forge, TN; Aaron Sparks (Charity) and Kaitlyn Sparks of Troutman, NC. Step-greatgrandchildren Fulton Lambert, Clara Jade Lambert and Walker Lambert of Pigeon Forge, TN and Nora Sparks of Troutman, NC.
The family will greet visitors at Givens-Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, VA from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The following day on Friday, September 27, 2024, funeral services will be held by Gary Poff, Pastor, at Givens-Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows, VA at 11am. A burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA.
