Dowdy, Audrey Smith

Audrey Smith Dowdy, age 98, of Blacksburg, died, Monday, November 25, 2024. She was born in Botetourt County, Virginia, on March 4, 1926 to the late Pearl and Easter Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bert Junior Dowdy; one daughter, Audrey Oakley; foster son, Jessie Smith; three grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Tolbert, Becky Edmonds, Shirley and Wayne Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Bert and Jessie Dowdy; brother, Eugene Smith; sisters-in-law, Pauline Smith and Louise Dowdy; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Sanborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, Virginia. The family will have a visitation from 10-11:00 AM prior to the service.
