Domestic Incident in Christiansburg

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. At approximately 11:30 a.m. Christiansburg Police received a call for a domestic dispute near the 2700 block of Roanoke Street. Upon arrival, officers approached a suspect who brandished a firearm. As officers directed the suspect to put down his weapon, the suspect shot himself. There were no shots fired by officers and no officers were injured in the incident.

Christiansburg EMS arrived and transported the suspect to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
