Dickerson, Doris Ann

Doris Ann Dickerson, age 67, of Christiansburg, died, Sunday, July 21, 2024. She was born in Radford, Virginia on March 26, 1957, to the late Marvin Dickerson and Elsie Woodyard. She was also preceded in death by sisters and brother, Barbara Allen, Ronald Dickerson, Susan Higgs; nephew, Shannon Gillenwater. Doris lost the love of her life on January 7, 2019, Lee “Cookie” Cochran.

She retired from Hubbell Lighting after 25 years of service. She was a past member of the Christiansburg Fire Department Auxiliary. Doris was a member of the Montgomery County Game and Fish Club at Claytor Lake. She loved to help Lee build houses.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Susan Cochran; stepson, Jeff Cochran; grandchildren, Chase Witt, Tanner Cochran, Serena McParland, Rostin Morris; nieces and nephews, Wayne Gillenwater, Jamie Melton, Greg Higgs, Candace Roberts; special friends, Martha Shiflett, Brenda Flora, Pat Hill; numerous other friends and relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
