Craig, Donald Eugene 4Donald Eugene Craig: loving husband, faithful father, superb “Papa,” camping enthusiast, gifted pianist, avid Duke BB devotee and Appalachian Trail hiker, passed from this life to his eternal reward on July 13, 2024, at the age of 91.

Born on February 2, 1933, to Oscar Hobart and Hazel Lee (nee Dooley) Craig in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was raised with his two sisters, Judy (Jim) Bradley and the late Margaret Comer in Rich Creek, Virginia. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a trained Radio Operator. His career was centered in telephone operations and installation, rising to administration with GTE Verizon.

Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Delora (nee Argabright) Craig. They were blessed with four children: Donald Anthony “Tony” (Tiffiney) Craig, Mark Wayne (David Mulkey) Craig, Beth Anne (Tim) Kufeldt, and Timothy Eugene (Christine) Craig. They were the loving grandparents to James (Nathalie) Kufeldt, Joshua Kufeldt, Jenna (Evan) Kufeldt-Ferrell, Jesse (Emily) Kufeldt, Julia Kufeldt, Max Craig, Evan Craig, Eli Craig, and Paige Craig. He was the proud great-grandfather to Mercy, Avie, Zoe, and Caleb Kufeldt.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until time of service 6:00 p.m. at the Spring Grove Funeral Homes-Tri County. A celebration of life reception will follow in the Spring Grove Tri County reception center until 8:30 p.m.
