Conley, Marie Sarver

Zannie Marie Sarver Conley, 84 of Rich Creek, VA. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Heritage Hall Rich Creek. Zannie was born on October 3, 1939, in Bland County, VA and was the daughter of the late Giles Sarver and Nellie Faye Clark.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Edward Conley, brothers: Donald Sarver, Raymond Sarver, Arnold Sarver, Otis Sarver, Mason Sarver, and grandson Cody Conley. She is survived by her sons Mike Conley (Lisa) and Jeff Conley (Misty), her niece she considered as a daughter, Cathy Conley, brothers: David Sarver (Maxine), Andrew Sarver (Linda), Herman Sarver (Mary), and sister: Freida Dean (late husband Dewitt), grandchildren: Meagan Sparks (BJ) and Haley Conley, great-grandchildren: Logan and Josiah Sparks, beloved neighbors: Bobbie and Leon Jones, and many nieces and nephews.

Marie attended Church of Christ in Pearisburg, VA with her family members, where she spent her years worshipping the Lord. Throughout her entire life, she spent time caring for others. She worked at nursing homes and a daycare, where she tended to those who couldn’t care for themselves. On her days off, she loved spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, watching soap operas, and most of all, gardening. Aside from her caring nature, Marie was always joyful and laughing when spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows, VA with Kathy Waldron officiating. Family will begin receiving friends at 1pm prior to the service. Graveside services to follow at Shrader’s Cemetery up Wolf Creek in Narrows.
