Cockram, Howard Leonard

Howard Leonard Cockram, 83, of Pilot VA passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1941 to the late Velo Iona Webb Cockram and Eugene L. Cockram.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by sisters Reva and Ella Kelley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Cockram; children, Barbara Dalton and husband Mike, Scott Patrick and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Brandon Cockram, Jason Dalton and wife Hailey, Walter Dalton, Grace Patrick, Evan Patick and Molly Patrick; brother, Bobby Cockram and wife Dorothy.

Howard worked for VDOT and devoted 32 years to the company. He enjoyed the little things in life and he especially enjoyed fishing, dancing and farming.

The family would like to express their gratitude to several people including the staff of Radford Heath and Rehab, Roanoke Memorial Clinic, New River Valley Medical Center and especially Carilion Hospice for their care.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, September 8 at 3:00 pm at Oak Grove Church located at 641 Craigs Mountain Road in Christiansburg VA 24073.
