Christmas for the Fishes – Donate Christmas Trees

Claytor Lake State Park presents Christmas for the Fishes, donate your old Christmas trees at Claytor Lake State Park’s Marina starting on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 through Wednesday, January 8, 2019 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm daily.

Help ensure years of great fishing at Claytor Lake by donating your old Christmas tree to the park. Donated trees will be incorporated into reef structures to enhance habitat for game fish.

All trees must be free of lights, tinsel, and other ornaments. Only real trees can be donated. Those making a tree donation will receive free park admission on the day of donation. Please follow our tree tag directions located at the drop site for proof of donation and parking pass receipt.

Interested in helping us deposit trees in the lake? Tree drop date is on January 9th. Please meet at the marina parking lot at 9:00 am. Be prepared for adverse weather conditions and bring a pair of work gloves. Volunteers should be able to lift 50 pounds. If inclement weather is forecasted, please call the park office at 540-643-2500 before leaving for the event.

Trees will be accepted until Wednesday, January 8th.
