Chrisman, William Frank
William Frank ‘Bill’ Chrisman, age 86, a lifelong resident of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2023. Bill was born April 13, 1937, in Christiansburg. He was a son of the late William Maurice Chrisman and Florence Webley Chrisman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the woman he loved for over 43 years, his wife, Clarice June Gallimore Chrisman; sister, Janis Chrisman Young; and a brother, Calvin Thomas Chrisman.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his nephew, Glenn Young and wife Sharon; niece, Denise Landay and husband James; numerous cousins; as well as many longtime friends and church family.
Bill was a Deacon of Auburn Baptist Church and previously a Trustee and Deacon of Edgemont Christian Church.
Some of the places Bill worked were at Angle Florist and the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. He spent many years working on the family farm, raising cattle, mowing and baling hay, cutting firewood, gardening and raising delicious vegetables that he shared with many people. He loved being outside and enjoying all that nature provides.
Bill gave a lot of his time volunteering in the community until his health slowed him down. Driving, Meals on Wheels, and RSVP – he was always ready to lend a hand.
In our loss we relish in knowing that Bill will be surrounded by the angels; he now has eternal peace in God’s Kingdom.
Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 1, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.

Very nice guy. I would see him at a store sitting on a bench eating a snack chatting with the people he knew always a happy soul

Rest in Peace dear friend. I went to school with you and Janice and you were a neighbor of mine for several years. Prayers for your family.
