Chandler, Harry Wayne

Harry Wayne Chandler, age 80, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. Born May 12, 1945, in Bozoo, WV, he was the son of the late George Albert Chandler and Beulah Martin Chandler.

Harry worked at Celanese for 38 years until his retirement. Once retired, he enjoyed spending time at home watching Gunsmoke and other westerns and tinkering with different things around the house. He enjoyed eating breakfast at Dairy Queen with the breakfast gang every morning. He was a member of the Bozoo Christian Church and attended the Peterstown Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Judy L. Chandler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 13 years, Brenda Nelson Chandler of the home; one son, Steven B. Chandler (Cindy) of Pearisburg, VA; one daughter, Shelia R. Chandler (Joe) of Princeton, WV; stepchildren, Kerry E. Hamblin and Gary A. Hamblin; one step-grandson, Greg A. Hamblin; brother, Albert Lloyd Chandler of DE; one sister, Irma Sue Wall of Bozoo, WV; his special friends, the DQ Breakfast Gang; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Peterstown Christian Church (PO Box 535, Peterstown, WV 24963) or to your local humane society.
