Castillo, Virginia Hale
Virginia Faye Castillo (Hale), age 68, departed this world to join the Lord on October 19, 2024. Virginia was born on January 29, 1956, in Union, WV, to Allen Custus Hale and Ina Clover Hale (Dunn).
On October 5, 1974, she married the love of her life, Humberto Castillo. They were married for over 47 years before his passing and had four children together. She worked at Celanese for her entire professional career before retirement. Virginia was an active member of Lindside Christian Church.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed working on crafts, cooking and baking. She had a love of traveling to new places, especially cruising to Mexico, and the beach. Virginia’s interests listed above were easily shadowed by her love of her family. She loved her husband and children but she had a special fondness for her grandchildren. As a compassionate soul, she was always a caring and supportive person to many in her extended family. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives who were touched by her presence.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Humberto Castillo; daughter, Ashley Nicole Castillo; siblings, Bill Hale, David Hale, and Nancy Scott; and brothers-in-law, Roy Smith and J.B. Journell.
Survivors include her children, Humberto II “Bo” (Deanie), Joshua David “Josh” (Marie), and Angela Rose “Angie” (Anthony); grandchildren, Evan, Star, Peyton, and Vivianne; siblings, Louise Smith, Sandra Journell, Barbie Broyles (Kenny), Larry Hale (Loretta), and Debbie Ballard (Maury); sister-in-law, Joyce Hale; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family throughout the Virginias and Carolinas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Gary Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
