Bush, James Tipton
James (Jim) Tipton Bush of Christiansburg, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 11, 2024. Jim was born in Pennington Gap, VA on May 8, 1947 to the late James Tyler and Nellie Mae Bush.
After graduating Jonesville High School, Jim attended Virginia Tech. For love of country he enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War. His training combined with his meticulous personality culminated in him serving as a Drill Sergeant – characteristics he maintained throughout his life.

From a little boy Jim was fascinated with anything mechanical. He eventually cultivated a passion for auto racing and became involved in every level of racing, from pit crew to owner. He was active in Ronnie Thomas Grand National Racing Series, Jay Stone at Log Cabin Raceway and teams at Franklin County, Martinsville and New River Valley Speedways. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Jim and his wife of 24 years, Kemvia, shared the same love of racing. Jim lived a long and blessed life on his own terms.
