Burleson, Russell Matthew

Russell Matthew Burleson, 59 of Pembroke, Virginia departed this life on December 29, 2023 in his home. Born in Radford, Virginia on June 6, 1964 he was a son of the late Bill and Mary McPeak Burleson.

For over forty years, Russell was a proud Epoxy finisher working with Biz and Associates. He loved and was dedicated to his craft of pouring concrete. He loved to work with his hands as he enjoyed tinkering with everything. He too was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed the thrill of fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Burleson, and Laura “Cissy” Moore; and brothers, Harley Burleson, Billy Burleson, and Roger Burleson.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jared Linkous (Emily); daughters, Skyler Holbrook (Matt), and Katie Bullion; grandchildren, Ryleigh Holbrook, and Waylon Holbrook; companion, Karen Bullion; brother, David Burleson (Donna); sister, Sonia Hodge (Roger); and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will conclude in the Burleson Family Cemetery in Pembroke. The family will have a time of visitation where friends will be received on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

While flowers are appreciated, the family requests that contributions be made to Kendall Funeral Home to assist in offsetting the cost of funeral expenses.
